Samara region and the Republic of Finland continue with their economic collaboration

On March 1, 2016, the XVI meeting of the workgroup on the economic collaboration between Samara region and Finland. The Parties discussed the prospects of development and signing of two agricultural cooperation agreements. Finnish Kometos and Samara agricultural Academy will get busy with joint training of specialists and scientific studies. The joint Russian-Finnish venture Ecodom-Region and the Finnish Neprick will establish a slaughterhouse and a meet-packing plant in Borsky district.

Samara region and Finland are in cooperation for more than 20 years already. Mostly, the cooperation is in the spheres of trade and economy. Samara region exports chemicals, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages, steel and mineral fuel, and imports from Finland the industrial equipment, paper, and chemical products.

This time, the Parties were discussing cooperation in construction activities and technologies, ecology and green technologies, energy preservation and municipal utility management. The plans envisage launching of joint projects, including the ones in the innovation field, technology transfer and road construction.
