Exhibition "Togliatti. New city of the USSR" in Paris

In late September - early October, in Paris, there were several events related to Russia: the offical visit of Vladimir Putin, the visit of the Head of the Federal Agency "Rosturizm" within the CEFIC working group on tourism, as well as activities of third phase of the Russian-French project "Togliatti. New city of the USSR", and the II French-Russian Forum "Innovation as the engine of the modern economy".

TheRussian-French project "Togliatti. New city of the USSR" isdedicated to the history of the construction of Togliatti. The projectwasinitiated by Fabien Bellat,PhD in Art History(Paris X University), who started his research in 2012 in cooperation with the Office of the Mayorof the city of Togliatti, together with Alliance Francaise Togliatti, with the support of numerous partners from the both Russian and French sides. The previous two phases of the project were held in Moscow and Togliatti.

In 2014 the organizers published the book "Togliatti. New city of the USSR" in Russian, which was presented at the State Museum of Architecture named after A.V. Shchusev (Moscow) and the French Embassy in Russia.In October, 2015, the publisher "Parantez" (Marseilles, France) has produced this book in French.

The third phase of the program of the Russian-French project "Togliatti. New city of the USSR" was intense.
October 1, Philip Buck,Director ofthe National High School of Architecture Paris Val de Saint, Sergey Andreev, Mayor of the city of Togliatti and Fabien Bellat, the Commissioner of the project, inaugurated the Exhibition in Paris.

The opening day was attended by over 120 people, among whom were a lot of guests familiar with the city of Togliatti. The guest of honor of the exhibition was Count Mr. Pyotr Sheremetev,the Chairman of the Union of Compatriots Abroad, architect.

Sergei Andreyev, the Mayor of Togliatti, in his speech,expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of Russia in France, the French Embassy in Russia, the Russian Center of Science and Culture for their assistance in the organization and holding of the exhibition in Paris, and also thanked Patrick Bard,the Director of the publishing house "Parantez", for the publication of a book about Toglaitti city in French.
