20 June 2014

Yesterday in the conference hall of the mayors office, as part of the French-Russian educational project Volga Val dOise, a meeting was held between Togliatti city administration and the delegation of National Automotive School Garac.

Tatyana Platonova, the head of Togliatti branch office of the Ministry of education and science of Samara region, Mikhail Oborin, the director of Togliatti machine-building college, and representatives of AVTOVAZ and NISSAN dealerships, Rona LLC and Vikingi LLC, also attended the meeting. The participants discussed the interim results of mutual cooperation and outlined their plans for the future.

After greeting the French partners Irina Sveshnikova, the deputy mayor and chief of staff of the city hall, noted that despite the relatively recent launch of the project, both parties managed to accomplish a lot.

In less than four years, strong cooperation and mutual contacts developed between the faculty members of the French automotive school and Togliatti colleges. In the course of the mutual visits, the lecturers had a chance to share their experience and further implement their acquired knowledge in their educational process. It is good to know that this work continues and today we have come to the most important part, the student exchange, Irina Sveshnikova commented.

Its worth reminding that the first French student to pass an internship in Togliatti was Vincent Dus. In February-March 2014 he passed an internship at one of AVTOVAZ dealerships - Rona LLC, specializing in service engineering and after-sales service. After that, two months later three other students of Garac School have taken up the initiative, Imad Boubeker, Kanten Siro, and Rafael Reno. Recently these students have finished their internship in the dealerships of Vikingi and Rona, and shared their positive impressions on their internship and stay in Togliatti.

Later, in the autumn of this year, a return visit of the Togliatti engineering college students is planned. According to Michael Oborin, the college director, six students and two teachers will visit the Garac National Automobile School. Moreover, it should be noted that throughout the year of 2014, the return visits of the students and lecturers from Togliatti college of service technologies and business, Togliatti college of technical and artistic education, and Val d'Oise vocational licees.

The meeting was summarized by Alexey Vostrikov, the head of the department of international relations interregional of Togliatti City Hall, who noted the key role of the city Mayor Sergey Andreev and Chief of Staff Irina Sveshnikova in the project implementation. Alexey Vostrikov also extended appreciation to the project coordinators, Association Argenteuil-Russia-CIS-Baltic States Association, on the French side, and the Alliance Francaise Togliatti, on the Russian side, for their support and assistance rendered to the development of Volga Val d'Oise project.
