SHAKESPEARE’S PLAY STAGED IN ENGLISH BY KOLESO THEATRE OF TOGLIATTI

As part of the Year of Culture in Russia, the Drama theatre Koleso, named after G.B. Drozdov, jointly with Alliance Francaise Togliatti and Prime-Time linguistic center and with support rendered by the Department of culture and the Department of International and Interregional relations of the city hall, carry out a unique action.
In commemoration of the 450th anniversary of drama and poetry genius William Shakespeare, a theatrical program was prepared as part of the Russian-British cross-cultural year. The premiere performance of A Midsummer Nights Dream by W. Shakespeare in the Koleso theatre. This is Shakespeares the most romantic and one of the most poetic comedies. The play gives a surprisingly captivating effect by its unmatched combination of reality and fantastic, serious and funny, lyrical and humorous, and of course, it will find its own audience in Togliatti.
The bunch of foreign citizens who live and work in Togliatti these days, now have an opportunity to watch this play in its original English language, due to the simultaneous interpretation. Later on, it is planned to facilitate synch interpretation for other performances of the theatres current repertory.
