Visit of Togliatti delegation to France

Within December 10-15th, 2012, a delegation of Togliatti, headed by the mayor S. Andreev, visited France. In the course of the visit, a number of meetings were held, acquaintances were made, and discussions were carried out on the projects that render wide opportunities for further development of the in many spheres of social life.

The delegation took part in the sharing experience program for single-industry cities development, as part of the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Economy and Finance of France, ADETEF agency and the Ministry of Regional Development of RF. More than 20 meetings were held with French governmental and private experts, the delegation visited the city of Lille, and a Renault plant. The response visit of the French experts is expected in February 2013.

The delegation met with the representatives of the architectural school of Versailles, discussing the organization of an exhibition of the history of construction modern Togliatti at the Paris centre of architecture. The parties also discussed apprenticeship of the French students in Togliatti in 2013-2014.

The delegation took part in the conference of the French auto component manufacturers considering localization of their production capacities in Russia. A presentation of the investment potential of the city was held, with information provided on the Special Economic Zone and the Hi-Tech Park Zhiguli Valley. The conference was arranged by the Embassy of France in Russia and Ubifrance, the French governmental agency on foreign economic development.

The delegation participated in the 4th French-Russian meeting on decentralized cooperation organized under the governance of the Governments of Russian and France. In the course of the the meeting, a presentation of cultural and recreational capabilities of Togliatti was held, and discussion were arranged with the Forum participants on establishment of sister city relations and participation in individual projects.

The delegation of Togliatti met with the representatives of the city hall of Bordeaux. During the meeting, the French partners acknowledged their invitation for three medical specialists of Togliatti to take a training course within January 21-25, 2013, with the city hospital of Bordeaux.
To conclude their visit to France, the members of Togliatti delegation met with the head of the family of descendants of V. Tatishev, a good friend of Togliatti Nikolai Zhestkov and his son Pierre, the landscapist.
