24 June 2019

Youth teams of the LOCALFRIEND international project together with activists of the Togliatti branch of the Russian Schoolchildren Movement had a brief tour at the Technopark "Zhiguli Valley". The teams visited the childrens technopark Kvantorium-63 region and got acquainted with their studies, took part in different workshops and contests. The guests of Zhiguli Valley consider technopark as an attractive tourist destination and a place to get new knowledge about business and educational competencies and workskills.

The implementation of the Localfriend project started in Togliatti in 2018 with the assistance of the Department of Education and the Department of International and Interregional relations of the Administration of the city of Togliatti. The participants are school teams of sister cities and partners from Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia and France. Togliatti is represented at international level by the local branch of the Russian Schoolchildren Movement and the pupils of Togliatti schools № 49, 57, 76, 93 and 94.

The aim of the Localfriend project is to create a unified online space for the communication of the active youth from sister-cities of Togliatti, Wolfsburg, Kazanlak, Nagykanizsa, Piacenza, Novo Mesto and Le Havre. By means of this unified international youth community, pupils from different countries have an opportunity to share their experience and information about youth activities, educational, socio-economic, cultural and tourist potential of their cities.

The implementation of the project consists of several stages, which include project and research activities, visits of educational delegations, as well as joint work in teams on the final project - an interactive online guidebook for young people from sister cities and partners.

Currently, some preparations are being done to entertain youth teams from Germany, Hungary, Slovenia and Italy. They are going to visit Togliatti in the frames of this informational tour. The event is to be hold from 21st to 25th September and involves full-time acquaintance of teams and the beginning of the joint work on the study of city sights and the further work on a project of electronic tourist itinerary that would be really interesting for young people.

High school students aged from 14 to 18 years of sister cities and partners are invited to participate in this informational tour. Pupils and students from Togliatti schools and universities are also going to take part in this project together with foreign guests.
